Strengthens the Community
The parks and recreation centers in Charlotte County provide a safe place for citizens to gather for both public and private activities, events and services. Our facilities are used to host weddings, festivals, company picnics, family reunions, non-profit fundraisers, athletic events, and a wide range of other special functions.
Promotes Health and Wellness
Our parks and recreation centers create an environment of fitness, physical activity and fun while maintaining a positive and encouraging atmosphere. Charlotte County has accepted the State of Health and Wellness Pledge through the Florida & Park Association (FRPA) and is a leading advocate for this initiative within our community.
Protects Environmental Resources
Charlotte County has preserved over 5,100 acres for parks and conservation lands to protect, restore, and conserve our environmental resources while providing passive recreational opportunities for people to spend time in nature. Protecting these lands balances the impacts of future growth while filtering water resources, recharging the aquifer, cleaning the air, and improving the quality of life within our community for generations to come.
Provides Recreational Experiences
Charlotte County is committed to providing leisure opportunities to individuals of all ages, abilities and income levels. Our recreational experiences include programs and activities such as summer camps, swim lessons, clubs, sports leagues, nature walks, and many more.
Supports Economic Impact
Charlotte County fully supports and actively seeks events that enhance the economic impact of our community. As the Spring Training Home of the Tampa Bay Rays, the Charlotte Sports Park is one of the many facilities hosting events that generate tourism dollars. Our athletic fields also serve as a primary location for these events.
